For XP User

Go to C:/windows-system32 Copy cmd.exe on your desktop

Rename it to sethc.exe. Now copy that file and paste again in system32 directory. When windows ask for overwriting the file, then click yes.

Now Log out from your guest account and at the user select window, press shift key 5 times or Left (ALT+Shift+ Num Lock).

For Windows 7 User

Right click on sethc.exe and run as administrator.

Right click on sethc.exe, Click on properties. and Click on Advanced tab

Now Select your Current user and click on Change Permissions

Now Click on Edit

Now Click on Full Control Check Box and Click OK

Copy  the New sethc.exe to system32, and click copy and replace

Now Restart your PC

Resetting the Password

Once you get to the login screen, hit the Shift key 5 times, and you’ll see an administrator mode command prompt.

Now to reset the password—just type the following command, replacing the username and password with the combination you want:

Command : net user account.name *
Example: net user raaz *
and hit enter. Set any password for that account

Insert your windows Bootable CD and select the “Repair your computer” option from the lower left-hand corner.

Then click on command prompt option.

First you’ll want to type in the following command to backup the original sticky keys file:

copy c:windowssystem32sethc.exe c:

Then you’ll copy the command prompt executable (cmd.exe) over top of the sticky keys executable

copy c:windowssystem32cmd.exe c:windowssystem32sethc.exe

Now you can reboot the PC.

Resetting the Password

is Administrator: if the account has the administrator privilege and rights.

password is empty: if the password of the account is empty or blank.

is disable: if the account has been disable due to the operation of administrator or the system rules.

is lockout: if the account has been locked due security breach such as too many unsuccessful login attempt.

password never expire: if the account has to set password on a specific expiry date or the password will expire after a set period.

It asks you if you want to reset another user. Select No.

Click OK to reboot the system

• After user account is chosen you see its information form SAM database:
• If you defined this user as a user you need to change settings and reset password, just  press [Y] to do that.
• You can also change default recommended settings and make your own choice. To choose desired option use arrows keys and [Space] key to mark or unmark it

To select and choose days and hours use arrow keys and [Space] bar. Please note that hours are pointed in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and you should take into accountyour time zone. NOTE: Default Windows system accounts may not have “permitted logon hours” options;

Press [Y] if you like to save your changes or press [Esc] to save account intact and  return to previous window (List of accounts)
